Hi there, I’m Julia, and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a 39-year-old professional chef living just outside of Asheville, North Carolina, and perhaps more importantly, I’m a mom to three wildly energetic, endlessly curious kids who keep me on my toes and inspire much of what I create in the kitchen.
My culinary journey started in the most humble of places: my grandmother’s warm, bustling kitchen in rural Tennessee. She believed that good food didn’t have to be fancy, just made with love and a good dash of butter. That belief stuck with me, through culinary school in New York, through years working in fast-paced restaurant kitchens, and eventually to the moment I realized that the most meaningful cooking I’d ever do would be in my own home.
These days, my kitchen is a space of comfort and chaos—where spaghetti sauce simmers while homework happens at the kitchen island, and where measuring cups sometimes double as toy buckets. I specialize in recipes that are effortless but full of heart: slow cooker pot roast that falls apart at the touch of a fork, creamy mac and cheese that always gets seconds, and skillet peach cobbler that makes any Wednesday feel like a celebration.
I don’t believe in perfection, especially not when it comes to food. I’ve burned more than my share of garlic bread and once mistook powdered sugar for flour (don’t ask). What I do believe in is cooking that makes life easier, meals that bring people together, and flavors that feel like home.
Whether you’re a parent trying to get dinner on the table before soccer practice, a home cook looking to simplify your weeknights, or just someone who loves the smell of a roast in the oven, I hope you’ll find something here that makes your day a little more delicious.
Welcome to my kitchen—it’s loud, it’s loving, and there’s always room for one more at the table.
